Cannes, France (CNS) - Britney Spears bagged two awards at the NRJ Music Awards over the weekend in Cannes, France. The Toxic singer was honored with the Best International Female Artist accolade as well as a Best Video prize for her hit single "Womanizer."

Other artists to win include Enrique Iglesias, who was named Best International Male Artist. "I feel like Akon should have gotten this award. It's a great honor for me to receive it," Iglesias told the crowd, Contactmusic reports.

The Pussycat Dolls were given the Best International Group, beating rockers Coldplay. Also, Kate Perry was given the international song of the year award for "I Kissed a Girl" at a French music award, but it turns out her song wasn't the best after all.

The award instead went to Barbados-born singer Rihanna for "Disturbia." The trophies were handed out based on results of audience votes on NRJ's website in the weeks leading up to the awards ceremony.

Perry however won in another category -- best international album for "One of the Boys".

The main winners are as follows:

Best International Male Artist: Enrique Iglesias Best French Male Artist: Christophe Mae Best French Group/Duet: Cleopatre Best French New Artist: Zaho Best International Song: Rihanna - Disturbia Best International Album: Katy Perry - One Of The Boys Best International Female Artist: Britney Spears Best International Group/Duet: Pussycat Dolls Best International New Artist: The Jonas Brothers Best Video: Britney Spears - Womanizer
