Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in negotiation to headline a new comic book-based project for Warner Bros., which Sylvain White will be directing.

"The Losers," based on the DC-Vertigo comic book of the same name, will follow a band of black ops commandos who are set up to be killed by their own government. After barely surviving, they set out to get revenge by uncovering the crimes of their handler.

It has not been revealed on what role the 42-year-old actor is expected to play, but given his burly physique, it seems that he will be playing the leader Clay.

James Vanderbilt wrote the screenplay. Dark Castle Entertainment is financing the project, while Dark Castle's Joel Silver, Weed Road's Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster are producing, Variety reports.

Next stop for the actor is the anticipated superhero film "Watchmen," which will be released on March 6.
