Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Sylvester Stallone has dropped 50 Cent in his upcoming all-star packed action flick, just a few days after the rapper replaced Forest Whitaker in the line-up.

Whitaker was originally signed on for the film, but after the shooting was delayed for a month, he had to drop out to honor his previous commitments.

Sly then emailed AintItCool.com, telling the movie website that he has recast the role of Hale Caesar to the hip-hop superstar last week.

However, on Saturday, the website reported that they had a "very enthusiastic" call from Sly, informing them that another actor will play the character. Terry Crews, a former NFL defensive end and linebacker, will complete the cast of Sly's written and directed project, "The Expendables."

He will be joining big names, including Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Charisma Carpenter, and Sly himself in the film.

It was not revealed why 50 Cent was dropped or if he was the one who quit, though it was speculated that Sly offered the role again to another actor after fans' reactions on the Internet were not favorable.

Crews first acted opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will also have a cameo in the film, in "The Sixth Day." He was also in the Adam Sandler-comedy "The Longest Yard." He is currently starring in the Emmy Award-nominated sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris" as Chris' father.
