About 20 Elementary Students On Outing Injured When School Bus Overturns On Major North Carolina Highway

Charlotte, NC (AHN) - Firefighters and emergency personnel responded to the scene of a major school bus accident that injured about 20 students.

There are conflicting reports over whether any of the injuries to the students from Cabarrus County were serious. The school bus overturned on a major North Carolina highway.

The accident happened at about 10 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 77.

There were 33 students and 12 teachers from Cox Mill Elementary School aboard the bus headed to an overnight trip at Camp Thunderbird in southwest Charlotte.
