Father Delivers Baby With Help Of YouTube

London, England (AHN) - A father in England delivered his baby son with the help of instructions he saw on YouTube.

Marc Stephens, a 28-year-old Royal Navy air engineer, said his wife began complaining about contraction pains at around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The two planned on having a home delivery with the help of a midwife.

Since his wife, Jo, had a history of early births with their previous three children, he went to Google and searched "how to deliver a baby," and he was directed to several clips on YouTube.

"I didn't even have time to panic," he told the London Evening Standard.

At 2:30 a.m., Jo woke him up. Stephens called their midwife, but she said she was too busy at the hospital to come out to the house. "The next thing I know she is coming through the bedroom doorway on all-fours. I looked down and the baby's head was showing," Stephens said.

He delivered his son and the family waited to take them to the hospital. The family was back home by 6:30 a.m.

They named the 5-pound, 5-ounce boy Gabriel.
