Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Valentine's Day just got a whole lot sweeter with an all-star cast. New Line Cinema has tapped a huge ensemble cast in their latest romantic comedy "Valentine's Day."

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher are all in final talks for a part in the project.

The film, to be directed by Gary Marshall - who helmed Roberts in "Pretty Woman" and "Runaway Bride" and Hathaway in "The Princess Diaries" - will have five slightly interconnecting stories playing out during the February holiday in Los Angeles.

As listed by THR, the story lines will be:

  • Robert as an army officer on leave from Iraq and on a flight to L.A. Cooper, a gay man whose lover is a closeted football player, will be on the same flight.
  • Kutcher as a flower shop owner who proposes to his girlfriend, Alba, only to realize he is really in love with his friend, Garner, who in turn, discovers her boyfriend is already married.
  • MacLaine will play Roberts' mother, a retiree who reveals to her husband an affair that happened a long time ago.
  • Hathaway as an assistant working at the biggest talent agency in town and dating a mailroom assistant, while Biel is an unlucky-in-love publicist who has no date on Valentine's.

The roles gay football player, MacLaine's husband, mailroom worker, talent agent and a young boy looking to give his crush some flowers are yet to be filled in.

Mike Karz will produce along Wayne Rice. Katherine Fugate wrote the initial draft; Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein wrote the latest.
