Sandy, UT (AHN) - Josh Wolff scored twice, as the Kansas City Wizards handed the Real Salt Lake its first home loss of the season with a 2-0 shutout victory Saturday night at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Wolff put the Wizards on top of the scoreboard with a tap-in in the 20th minute, and finished his brace in the 67th minute, helping Kansas City (4-4-2) put an end to a three-game winless streak overall.

Wolff has scored in three straight games, moving into a tie with Chicago's Brian McBride for the league lead in goals with six.

Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman was impressive in the net, making seven saves, including four in the final 10 minutes plus stoppage time for his fourth shutout of the season.

Kansas City dictated the tempo from start, forcing Real into playing a quicker pace, a ploy that eventually wore down the host team.

RSL, though, got the first good chance to take the lead after former Wizards forward Yura Movsisyan fed a cutting Robbie Findley.

But the Kansas City keeper was up to the challenge and thwarted the close range attempt by Findley.

The Wizards' aggressive plays finally paid off in the 20th minute when Wolff, off a Jack Jewsbury assist, broke in behind the Royals' defense toward Salt Lake netminder Chris Seltz.

Seltz came out and deflected the shot, but Wolff got back the ball and deposited it into an open net.

While on a counterattack in the 67th minute, new substitute Michael Harrington zipped a perfect diagonal feed toward the near post, enabling Wolff to slide it into the net sealing the game.

Real Salt Lake nearly tied the game in the 47th minute, but Kyle Beckerman's stab hit off the post and a follow-up from Javier Morales was deflected wide.

The host team also had another good chance to score in the 82nd minute when Luis Miguel Escalada's shot hit the crossbar.

The win also snapped a two-game road losing streak for the Wizards, who will host MLS-leading Chivas USA next Saturday.

RSL, winless in its last four games, will try to bounce back in next MLS match vs. D.C. United also on the same day.
