Topics: Entertainment, Offbeat, WorldBeijing, China (CNS) - In China, a country where sexual openness is frowned upon, even straitlaced customs and antiquated views can succumb to the allure of big business.

That is the case with "Love Land", a condemned sex theme park located in Chongqing that was flattened by a wrecking ball over the weekend.
The tear-down started when a series of leaked photographs began to circulate the Internet.
Promoted by irate protests from web users and the Chinese public at large, the park's owners sanctioned the demolition of never-been-opened adult wonderland.
According to local press reports, attractions ranged from educational displays of genitalia and various cultural treatments of sex as well as workshops designed to educate park-goers on sex techniques.
The furor surrounding the park's construction and destruction points to the dichotomy of sexuality that exists in Chinese culture.
While some widespread practices such as prostitution are loosely prosecuted, general education regarding sexual health is restricted.
The conflicting values and limited dialogue are a by-product of the Communist nation's confrontation with the growing pains of capitalist modernization.
