Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - DreamWorks Animation has announced the release dates of its three anticipated blockbuster sequels, one spin-off, and three new films for the next three years.

First stop is on March 26, 2010. The film company will release "How to Train Your Dragon," which is based on the book of the same name by Cressida Cowell. The story centers on a teenager who lives on an island where fighting dragons is a way of life. Chris Sanders ("Lilo & Stitch") wrote and directed.

On May 21 next year, the fourth installment of the "Shrek" franchise will be released. "Shrek Forever After," formerly known as "Shrek Goes Fourth," will bring back the voices of its original all-star cast: Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and Antonio Banderas.

"Oobermind," formerly titled as "Master Mind," is coming on November 5, 2010. Robert Downey Jr. will voice the title character, a supervillain who faces boredom after he has defeated his archrival Metro Man.

The company will jump to June 3, 2011 for the sequel "Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom." In the follow-up film, a new villain has emerged with a very powerful mysterious weapon that threatens the existence of kung fu. Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu and David Cross will again voice their hit characters.

Then on November 4, 2011, a film based on the forthcoming books by William Joyce, which has the working title of "The Guardians," will hit the big screen. The world's five unlikeliest heroes - Jack Frost, North, Bunnymund, Tooth, and Sandy - join forces to stop an ancient spirit from plunging the world into eternal darkness.

"Shrek" spin-off "Puss in Boots," still in its working title, will be released on March 30, 2012. Antonio Banderas will again voice the feline warrior, with Salma Hayek voicing his love interest.

"Madagascar 3" is scheduled for a May 27, 2012 release. Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, and the rest of the animals will be relocating from Africa to Europe via a traveling circus.

DreamWorks also plans to release one of the three original projects currently in pre-production. They will choose which one from "The Croods," "Truckers," and "Super Secret Ghost Project" will be released in the big screen.

Co-president of production Bill Damaschke said, "Our exceptionally talented and highly experienced creative team is bringing to DreamWorks Animation a significant number of imaginative, original and cutting-edge ideas today."
