Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert has signed his own record deal. A day after champ Kris Allen announces his 19 Recordings contract, the 27-year-old show favorite has also signed his debut album to RCA Records.

Lambert said in a statement on Tuesday, "I'm thrilled that we've come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album. We are 100 percent on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings."

"It's going to be ridiculous! Get ready!"

The singer's debut LP is expected to hit stores this fall.

Meanwhile, Lambert, who surprisingly landed only on second place on the hit FOX talent show, has confirmed speculations about his sexuality.

He said in the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine, "I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay."

Lambert is prepping to join the "Idols" tour with other participants. The 50-city tour will kick off July 15 in Portland, Oregon.
