28 Stars Unveiled As 2010 Hollywood Walk Of Fame Honorees

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has unveiled the honorees to receive their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.

The committee picked 28 TV, film, music and theater stars from the 200 nominations they have received. The chosen A-listers' names will be cemented on a star during the Walk of Fame's 50th anniversary.

Chairman Earl Lestz has been quoted by Stuff.co.nz as saying, "Hollywood's class of 2010 has been selected. After much consideration, the Walk of Fame committee has selected 28 of our most talented from more than 200 nominations."

"Fans and tourists worldwide will enjoy seeing their favorite celebrities receive this rare accolade."

"What is even more exciting is that these particular recipients will have the distinctive honor of being selected during the year that celebrates the Walk of Fame's 50th Anniversary."

The film stars slated to receive their own stars are Adam Sandler, Russell Crowe, John Cusack, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, James Cameron, Mark Wahlberg, and composers Alan Menken and Randy Newman.

For the TV category, the recipients are Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Cryer, Sam Waterston, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bill Maher, Peter Graves, and sportscaster Chris Berman.

In Music, the lucky beneficiaries are Ringo Starr, Chaka Khan, Van Morrison, Alan Jackson, ZZ Top, the Funk Brothers, Bryan Adams, Marco Antonio Solis and the late Roy Orbison.

Andrea Bocelli and Guy Laliberte will be receiving their own stars for the Theater and Live Performance category.

The dates for the ceremonies have not been scheduled yet.
