Firefox 3.5 Hits The Web; Touts Better Privacy, HTML5

Topics: Technology, GoodNew York, NY (AHN) - Mozilla has unveiled the final release copy of 'Firefox' 3.5, its open source Web browser which takes aim at Microsoft's 'Internet Explorer.'

Firefox 3.5 spent a year in development and will add new functionality to the second most popular browser. Chief among the improvements will be support for HTML 5 "including native support for Ogg Theora encoded video and Vorbis encoded audio."
Already available in over 70 languages, Firefox will continue to offer upgraded privacy tools and "better web application performance using the new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine."
"So much is happening on the Web right now, it's a great time for browsers. Firefox 3.5 brings together the most innovative Web technologies and delivers them in the most complete and powerful modern browser," Mozilla CEO John Lilly explained.
