Pittsburgh, PA (AHN) - Ross Ohlendorf threw seven shutout innings, and a pair of relievers followed with a scoreless frame each as the Pittsburgh Pirates blanked the Chicago Cubs 3-0 Tuesday.

John Grabow and Matt Capps didn't allow a run in the eighth and ninth innings, respectively, with the latter notching his 18th save.

The Cubs went quietly into the night, with their 1-to-5 batters combining to collect one hit in 19 at-bats.

Only Geovanny Soto had two hits for the Cubs, and their lone extra-base hit with a double.

Freddy Sanchez rapped three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Bucs, ripping an RBI single in the fifth and a run-scoring double in the seventh.

Ohlendorf and Cubs starter Ted Lilly have identical 7-6 records after the contest, with the latter picking up the loss after a solid outing in which he allowed eight hits and three runs over seven frames.

The Pirates improved to 36-41, while the Cubs dropped to 36-38.
