Daytona Beach, FL (AHN) - It was a case of good news-bad news for Roush Fenway Racing Thursday during practice for Saturday night's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Roush youngster David Ragan had the fastest time of the first practice with a speed of 190.714 mph, but teammate Greg Biffle was caught up in a two-car incident with Sam Hornish Jr. in the evening practice.

"This race track drives a lot like Darlington now - just how hot it is, how slick it is. Not quite like that. The car doesn't slide quite as much, but pretty similar to that,'' said Biffle. "The car really slips and slides a lot. There isn't a lot of grip. Temperature and age in the race track and the surface makes it drive like that.''

Ragan led the morning session and was trailed by Casey Mears, Jamie McMurray, Joey Logano and Brian Vickers.

In the evening session, David Reutimann led the way with a speed of 192.135 mph and was followed by Mears, Kevin Harvick, Vickers and Juan Pablo Montoya.

"I think we have a good race car every week and this restrictor-plate racing is all about surviving. If we can survive this week and bring it home anywhere then I think we will be good. I think if you can get to the end of the race then you are probably going to be in the top-20,'' said Montoya.

"If you can get a top-20 at a restrictor-plate racing going into for the 'Chase' is not a bad thing. I know we have a fast car and we'll see what happens. It's all about points right now," he added.
