Soap Stars Join Celebrity Charity Trip To Kenya

Topics: Lifestyle and Arts, TelevisionLos Angeles, CA (CNS) - Some of the daytime TV's biggest stars will be joining the trip to Kenya in August to help support Feed the Children.

Susan Lucci of "All My Children" and Anthony Geary and Kelly Monaco of "General Hospital" will travel to Africa to aid the charity's founders Larry and Frances Jones while they deliver food and items to the poor. They will also accompany them on visits to local school.
The stars will document their time there with their own video cameras. A portion of the footage will be used during a segment for "Daytime Gives Back," which will air during the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards on Sunday, August 30 at 8:00 pm ET on the CW.
Other celebrities that are headed out on the trip include Montel Williams, Devon Werkheiser, Christopher and Kyle Massey and Erik Estrada. A full length documentary will also be taped by Associated Television International that will give viewers a chance to see Kenya through the eyes of the celebrities.
Feed the Children is an international, non-profit relief organization that supports more than 100,000 children in Kenya's slums by delivering food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to people who lack these essentials.
