Miami, FL (CNS) - "American Idol" runner-up to Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis, is preparing to release his second album and it's going to sound different from most "Idol" crooners' albums. He moved to Tommy Boy Entertainment, a label which primarily focuses on dance music and hip-hop, for an album Lewis says is filled with "electro-pop goodness."

"'Heartbreak On Vinyl' is the culmination of over 10 years in the dance scene -- the music that gets me out onto the dance floor to lose my inhibition," Lewis said in a press release. Lewis' music is no stranger to the dance floor, either. He earned a top 10 dance hit with "How Many Words," produced by S*A*M & Sluggo. Lewis is reteaming with the producers, as well as dance producer and remixer Dave Aude, Rodney Jerkins, and Jean Baptiste.

Lewis says the album's title is an homage to the record stores which continue to shutter across the country. "The title is an ode to all the record stores that have been closing down due to my industry eating itself," Lewis said. "These are the stores that brought inspiration to all of us music lovers and have led me to make the music I create today."

The first single from the album, "Sad Song," is scheduled to hit radio in July. It'll be available first as a ringtone download for members of his official fan club. The album is scheduled to his stores October 6th.

"'Heartbreak On Vinyl' is filled with electro pop goodness, with melodies I cherish and that I hope my fans will sing to," he said.
