San Francisco, CA (AHN) - Ryan Sadowski extended his scoreless streak to 13 innings, as the San Francisco Giants pounded the Houston Astros 13-0 Friday night in the opener of their series at AT&T Park.

The Giants rookie starter, listed 6-foot-4, 195-pounds, tossed seven scoreless innings to baffle the Astros batters.

Sadowski (2-0), who also pitched a gem, six scoreless innings in his major-league debut Sunday in Milwaukee, denied Houston a hit until the fourth.

In the game, the Astros did not advance a runner to third base.

The offense provided Sadowski more than ample support in just the first two innings. The Giants were up 3-0 after one inning and hiked it to 9-0 after two.

San Francisco added four more runs in the third en route to their highest single-game run total since July 2007.

Pablo Sandoval ignited the onslaught by detonating a two-run blast to right field three batters into the game.

Travis Ishikawa was awarded a three-run shot to after a video review, while Nate Schierholtz and Edgar Renteria each contributed three hits in the win.

San Francisco registered 14 hits before the Astros finally got their first off the Giants starter in the fourth inning.

Houston starter Felipe Paulino (2-5) lasted just two innings, yielding eight earned runs in two innings.

Meanwhile, the Giants optioned infielder Matt Downs to Triple-A Fresno after the tilt to clear the spot for Rich Aurilia, who is coming off the bereavement list.
