Orlando, FL (AHN) - A driver of a monorail at a Disney World theme park in Orlando, Fla. was killed early Sunday morning when his train collided with the back of another, according to various reports.

Witnesses told a local NBC News affiliate that the trains collided at around 2 a.m. at the park's Epcot station as people were leaving a July 4 fireworks show.

The driver, who had to be cut out of his train by fire-rescue crews, was pronounced dead at the scene. Some reports say another driver was injured and taken to the hospital.

Other witnesses told television station Local 6 that there were up to six passengers on the train when the wreck occurred.

Disney released a statement to the media that the monorail is closed and an investigation is underway to determine what caused the trains to collide.
