Pujols Homer Helps Cards Rip Cubs

Chicago, IL (AHN) - St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols continued his season-long hitting assault Friday afternoon, smacking his 32nd homer, helping his team to an 8-3 win over the Chicago Cubs.

Pujols has 84 RBI on the season and came into the contest hitting .332.
Chris Carpenter got the win, tossing six innings of seven-hit, three-run ball to improve to 7-3.
Rich Harden fell to 5-6, throwing five innings of seven-hit, four-run ball.
Ryan Ludwick had three hits and drove in four runs for the Cards.
Ryan Theriot and Harden had two hits each for the Cubs.
Derrek Lee homered for the Cubs, his 17th of the campaign.
The Cards improved to 48-40, while the Cubs fell to 41-42.
