Callahan Re-Signs With Rangers; Korpikoski Traded For Lisin

Topics: NHLNew York, NY (AHN) - The New York Rangers reached a deal Monday with restricted free agent Ryan Callahan, who had the second-most number of shots on goal for the Blueshirts last season.

The 24-year-old Callahan nailed 237 shots in 81 games last campaign, just behind Scott Gomez for the team lead. He finished with 22 goals and 18 assists, including 45 penalty minutes.
The right winger will earn $4.6 million over two years and also kept himself from undergoing salary arbitration proceedings set next Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Rangers acquired fellow right wing Enver Lisin after trading forward Lauri Korpikoski to the Phoenix Coyotes.
Lisin finished with 13 goals and eight assists last season while earning $850,000 with the cash-strapped Coyotes.
Korpikoski, a restricted free agent, tallied six goals and eight assists last campaign with the Rangers.
