New York. NY (AHN) - The New York Yankees don't always want to have to depend on Mariano Rivera, but it must be comforting for the Bronx Bombers to know he is there.

The future Hall of Fame reliever fanned Aubrey Huff with two outs in the ninth Wednesday, preserving the New York Yankees sixth straight win with a 6-4 conquest of the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday.

Baltimore was down 6-2 in the ninth, but Adam Jones and Nick Markakis cracked solo home runs off Brian Bruney to cut the lead to 6-4.

Rivera came on to fan Aubrey Huff to record his 28th save, helping the Yanks post a second straight three-game sweep after toppling the Tigers over the weekend.

The Yanks did not wait long to take charge Wednesday, building a 4-0 first inning lead.

Nick Swisher had a two-run single and A-Rod and Robby Cano each had RBI base-knocks.

Jorge Posada went yard in the third for a solo shot as New York stretched its lead to 5-0.

Markakis accounted for the O's first run with a sac fly in the seventh.

A.J. Burnett moved to 9-4 on the season, limiting the Orioles to two runs on six hits.

Burnett reduced his ERA to 3.74 with the help of a pair of fine catches by Swisher, who atoned for an earlier miscue.

Jason Berken fell to 1-8 afer allowing five runs over six frames.
