Kansas City, KA (AHN) - Landon Donovan scored the equalizer in the 33rd minute, helping the Los Angeles Galaxy forge a 1-1 draw with the Kansas City Wizards Saturday at Community America Ballpark in Major League Soccer action.

Trailing 1-0 following Kansas City's Claudio Lopez's strike in the 26th minute, Donovan finally found the back of the net off a feed from David Beckham.

After collecting the pass near midfield, Donovan surged towards the Wizards area before launching a low shot past Kansas 'keeper Kevin Hartman, tying the match.

Lopez, one of only two Wizards ever to have scored in World Cup competition, drew first blood in the 26th minute with a rocket from midfield that caught L.A. goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts off his line.

Ricketts miscalculated the Argentine forward's towering blast, which went over his hands and into the net.

The Jamaica goalkeeper was forced out of the contest with back spasms as he crashed into the post, injuring his back on the play.

With the draw, the Galaxy had a four-match winning streak snapped.
