Genova, Italy (AHN) - After a stinging loss to Juan Martin Del Potro in New York onMonday, world No. 1 Roger Federer is looking to bounce back when he plays in three rubbers of Switzerland's Davis Cup playoff tie in Italy this weekend

Frustrated in his bid for a sixth consecutive title at Flushing Meadows, Federer is aiming to help the Swiss return to the main World Group draw of the Davis Cup.

Federer is slated to play two singles matches and see action in the doubles event.

First in the schedule of the amazing Federer is a singles match encounter against Simone Bolellie, ranked 64th in the world, Friday.

Federer will then team up with Stanislas Wawrinka the following day in the doubles clash against the Italian duo of Fabio Fognini and Potito Starac.

Both Federer and Wawrinka will then see action in the reverse singles on Sunday.

The United States Tennis Association slapped a $1,500 dollar fine on the Swiss champ Thursday for arguing with a US Open official.

Federer, owner of 15 Grand Slam singles titles, was fined for using profanity while arguing with the chair umpire during the final against Del Potro.

The exchange was picked up by the CBS microphones on court during its live broadcast of the match.

Federer's fine amount was the same as those docked to Vera Zvonareva and Daniel Koellerer for audible obscenity.
