Dallas, TX (AHN) - Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban doesn't think the Ron Artest experiment will fail in Los Angeles, at least for other NBA teams.

Cuban recently commented how he's happy Artest joined the Lakers.

"I tell you what, now that they've got Ron Artest, I couldn't think of anything better," Cuban said during a radio interview.

"Could you imagine? Ron Artest has got the ball, and Kobe's standing there, 'Throw me the ball.' Thank you, Ron Artest."

Current Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle coached Artest in Indiana for three seasons.  However, seven games into the 2004-2005 season he was suspended for the infamous brawl at the Palace.

Classy Carlisle took the high road.

"Ron Artest is a great player," Carlisle said Friday night. "My first year in Indiana, he was an All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year, so I know what he's capable of. It's just going to be tough."

The Dallas Mavericks travel to take on Artest, Kobe and the Los Angeles Lakers October 30.
