Pentagon Building 'Super Bomb'

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Pentagon said Wednesday it is developing a 30,000-pound bomb that can destroy deep targets. The bomb called massive ordnance penetrator (MOP) will be available soon, according to Press Secretary Geoff Morrell.

Upon the request of the Defense Department, Congress approved funds for the development of the MOP and the MacDonnell Douglas Corp. was contracted on Friday to build it at a cost of $51.9 million..

The MOP is intended for deeply buried facilities that shelter and hide nuclear weapons.
