Jeff Jordan, Son Of Basketball Legend, To Rejoin Illinois Hoops Team

Topics: College BasketballChampaign, IL (AHN) - The eldest son of basketball legend Michael Jordan, Jeff Jordan, has returned to play on the Illinois basketball team.

Illini coach Bruce Weber made it official Friday.
In a Chicago Tribune report, Weber indicated that the younger Jordan, who played as a "preferred walk-on" the past two seasons, convinced him that he is ready to re-dedicate himself to the Illini team.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound reserve guard took off after this last season to concentrate on his academic work.
Last season, Jordan logged an averaged 8.4 minutes in 33 games as a backup guard. As a true freshman, he played 5.4 minutes.
In a total of 59 tilts he has played, Jordan has amassed 58 points, 42 assists and 24 rebounds.
Jordan turned down scholarships at Valparaiso and Loyola Universities and chose to walk on at the University of Illinois.
