Burbank, CA (CNS) - "A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa" is currently available on DVD.

Released on Sept. 29 by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, "Letters to Santa" is a welcome holiday gift for any family with plenty of extra materials. Among its bonus features: deleted scenes; 10 minutes of extra footage, including bloopers; a music video of the song "Glad All Over," with the Muppets teaming up with the members of the Dave Clark Five; and the Christmas spectacular The Muppets Stocking Stuffer Smorgasbord.

The made-for-TV-movie, which originally aired in December 2008, follows Muppet favorite Gonzo as he accidentally delays the delivery of some very important mail. With no other option, he takes on the task of delivering three letters to the North Pole in time for Christmas. Helping him along the way is the rest of the Muppet lineup, including Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear and Miss Piggy, but as with any Muppet movie, there are plenty of live action guest stars. Whoopi Goldberg, Jesse L. Martin, Nathan Lane, Uma Thurman, Jane Krakowski, Richard Griffiths, Madison Pettis, model Petra Nemcova and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. Paul Williams and "Sopranos" stars Steve Schirripa and Tony Sirico also star.

The first Muppet TV special in four years is also the first to be filmed in widescreen. This is one of many Muppet Christmas features, following the characters' 1979 John Denver holiday special, the 1987 "A Muppet Family Christmas" and 2002's "It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie." The Muppets also starred in their own feature-length yuletide film in 1992 with "The Muppet Christmas Carol," their own version of the Charles Dickens perennial classic, starring Michael Caine as miserly Ebeneezer Scrooge.

With a runtime of 56 minutes, "A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa" retails for $19.99 in the United States and for $24.99 in Canada.
