Lantana, FL (AHN) - Officials and residents of Lantana have mailed 2,000 coconuts to the Postmaster General to convince the official to not close the Florida town's post office.

A plane delivered Wednesday the coconut to the U.S. Postal Service headquarters in L'Enfant Plaza in Washington, D.C. Each nut have $4 stamp written notes telling Postmaster General John E. Potter the sentiments of Lantana residents, according to Palm Beach County Commissioner Steve Abrams.
The stunt stemmed from the plan of the USPS to close 371 post offices nationwide to cut cost.
