Bloomington, IN (AHN) - Former University of Indiana basketball coach Bob Knight is reportedly returning a check sent last week by Indiana officials as a settlement offer.

The issue stemmed from a complaint by Knight against the University for failing to represent him in a claim filed against him by former assistant coach Ron Felling.

That case was filed while Knight was an employee of the university.

Knight, who is now working as an ESPN college basketball analyst, reportedly indicated that he has no plans of accepting the $75,000, reportedly from alumni donations.

He has instructed his attorney to send the check back.

Despite his renown outbursts, Knight, nicknamed "The General" is credited for running clean programs with most of his players graduating.

In September, 2000, Indiana dismissed Knight in relation to the university's "zero-tolerance policy."

While in Indiana (1971-00), Knight steered his teams to 11 Big Ten championships, three national championships and one NIT championship.

Knight, now 69, is only one of three basketball coaches to win an NCAA crown, NIT title, and an Olympic gold medal.

Meanwhile, it is uncertain if Knight, one of the inductees, would attend the school's hall of fame ceremony next week.
