Topics: SoccerReal Madrid is more than a football club.

It is a worldwide brand, famous for a long and glittering history of success including five European Cups.
On Wednesday Goliath met David, a Spanish Third Division village side, also known as Alcorcon in the Spanish King's Cup and were not only beaten, but spanked.
Alcorcon were 3-0 by half-ime and a shell-shocked Madrid never looked like recovering before slumping to a 4-0 battering.
Madrid suffered a similar fate last season, in the trophy formerly called the Copa Del Rey, going out to another third-tier side, Real Union on away goals.
In fact the side from the capital haven't won the trophy since 1993, an astonishing drought by their own high standards.
Real face local rivals Getafe at the weekend in La Liga before their return encounter with AC Milan in the Champions League next Tuesday.
