San Martin, CA (AHN) - The South Bay, which has never hosted a PGA Tour event, could be the site of the Frys.com Open next year.

According to reports, the tournament, which features mostly players striving to earn their tour cards, could take place at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif., about 30 miles outside of San Jose, Calif.

The PGA Tour policy is set to decide on a possible move at its November meeting.

The Fry's.com Open has been played at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., the past three years

This year's event was settled in a playoff with Troy Matteson topping California youngsters Rickie Fowler and Jamie Lovemark.

The San Francisco Bay area recently hosted the Presidents Cup at Harding Park Golf Courses. It also was the site of the 2005 WGC event.

CordeValle also has never hosted a tour event, but is the venue of an annual college golf tournament.
