Alexander, Missouri Dominate Colorado In Rout

Topics: College FootballBoulder, CO (AHN) - Danario Alexander caught two touchdown passes, leading the explosive Missouri Tigers past the Colorado Buffaloes 36-17 Saturday afternoon.

Derrick Washington rushed 22 times for 99 yards and a touchdown and also had eight receptions for a total of 123 yards receiving.
Quarterback Blaine Gabbert completed 17 of 29 for 192 yards and two touchdowns on the day. Gabbert threw both touchdowns to wide out Alexander in the first quarter.
The Tigers jumped out to a 33-3 lead at half time, dominating in all phases of the game.
The defense came ready to play, recording eight sacks and forcing four turnovers in all.
In the second half the Tigers would be held in check, gaining only 94 yards and three points.
Colorado scored 14 unanswered points in the third quarter.
Running back Rodney Stewart rushed for a 3 yard touchdown, and Benjamin Burney also returned an interception 78 yards for a touchdown, breathing some life into Colorado.
But the lead Missouri built in the first half would be too much for Colorado to overcome.
Missouri held Colorado to a total of 176 yards in total offense, and -14 yards rushing in the game.
Colorado quarterback Tyler Hansen was on the run all game and could not get into a rhythm. Hansen fumbled the ball three times and was sacked for a safety.
Missouri improves to (5-3) ending a three game losing streak. The Tigers host Baylor (3-5) next Saturday afternoon.
Colorado falls to (2-6) and will look to rebound against Texas A&M (5-3) next Saturday afternoon.
