Topics: EntertainmentZurich, Switzerland (CNS) - Roman Polanski's offer of higher bail has been rejected. Switzerland has refused the multi-award winning filmmaker's offer to pay a higher bail deposit because the risk of flight remains high.

According to Bloomberg, Folco Galli, spokesman for the Justice Ministry, said they received a request for bail on October 26 but they rejected it. It wasn't revealed exactly how much Polanski's legal team offered, but Galli said it was not a "liquid deposit."
They also rejected a previous bail request last month, which came a week after Swiss police arrested him on an international warrant stemming from his 1977 conviction for having illegal sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Last week, Polanski's victim, now 46-year-old Samantha Geimer, pleaded with the court to dismiss the case against him, arguing that the media attention is negatively impacting her health.
