An Aberdeen soccer fan is in a serious but stable condition after his sheep costume caught fire on the train ride home from the match.

The man suffered serious burns to his arms and his legs when the sheep suit he was wearing was set alight with him inside it.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the man running, arms flailing, through the carriages whilst still ablaze while fellow fans tried to douse the flames with beer.

One man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court Monday.

The victim remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

One other man suffered slight burns in the incident.
