Lincoln police ticketed him on suspicion of negligent driving Sunday morning.
His SUV hit three vehicles around 2:30 in the morning.
Suh told police he swerved to avoid hitting an animal.
"I'm aware of the accident and I've talked to Ndamukong about it," Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini said in a statement.
There were no injuries related to the accident.
The senior defensive tackle is expected to be a top overall pick in next year's draft.
Authorities suspected alcohol as a factor, but the report showed Suh tested well below the legal limit for drunken driving.
Suh's blood alcohol level measured at 0.035 percent. The legal limit for drivers in Nebraska is 0.08 percent.
Suh reportedly severely damaged his mothers SUV, totaled one of the parked cars and caused about $8,000 damage to the other two vehicles involved.
The misdemeanor charge carries a six month jail sentence and $100 fine.
