Wallace Carries Bobcats Past Winless Nets

Topics: NBACharlotte, NC (AHN) - Gerald Wallace scored 24 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, leading the Charlotte Bobcats to a 79-68 win over the New Jersey Nets Monday night in an offensively challenged contest.

Charlotte went on a 24-0 run, holding New Jersey scoreless over ten minutes during a key rally.
Gerald Wallace carried the Bobcats on his back with a double-double. Wallace had a career-high 20 rebounds, while D.J. Augustin added 21 points off the bench for the Bobcats.
Power forward Boris Diaw scored 14 points for the Bobcats, going 6 for 6 from the line.
New Jersey inexcusably fell apart, getting outscored 46-27 in the final two quarters.
The Nets have now dropped to (0-4) in a season which is already looking grim.
To add injury to insult, the Nets lost power forward Yi Jianlian who rolled his knee and is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday.
Chris Douglas-Roberts lead all Nets scorers with 20 points and six rebounds. Center Brook Lopez had 18 points and four block shots.
Point guard Rafer Alston had a tough night only scoring 2 points and was 1-for-8 from the field.
The Bobcats improved to (2-2) and have a few days off before hosting the Atlanta Hawks (2-1) Friday night.
The Nets host the undefeated Denver Nuggets (3-0) Wednesday night.
