South Bend, IN (AHN) - Notre Dame is expected a get a boost this week when it collides against Navy with Irish star receiver Michael Floyd getting clearance to return following a broken left collarbone injury.

Floyd, who led the nation in receiving yards at the time of his injury, was hurt during the third contest of the season against Michigan State on Sept. 19.

Floyd registered 13 receptions for 358 yards and five TDs in three contests this season.

With the return of Floyd and the emergence of Golden Tate, who took over in the former's absence, Notre Dame has one of the best receiving tandems in college football.

Tate has registered 56 receptions for 927 yards and nine touchdowns (ranked fourth in the country) on the campaign.

Also Tuesday, Irish head coach Charlie Weis announced backup quarterback Dayne Crist will miss the remainder of the season because of knee injury.

Weis sustained a torn ACL in his right knee during last week's clash against Washington State.

The Fighting Irish (6-2) entertains Navy (6-3) at Notre Dame Stadium Saturday.
