Seattle, WA (AHN) - The Seattle Seahawks have concluded their business with running back Edgerrin James, giving him his release on Tuesday after he's only run for 125 yards in seven games.

James is one of several casualties to recent Seahawks turnover as they struggle to breathe some life into their season. They are just 2-5 and fading fast in the AFC West.

Following his release from the Arizona Cardinals, James signed a one-year, $2 million dollar tender with the Seahawks, but he has clearly lost a step from his heyday.

James, a former first round pick of the 1999 draft, has made his statement in the league, collecting four Pro Bowl selection including two nominations to the first team in 1999 and 2000.

Among the Seahawks replacements from the practice squad include safety Jamar Adams, wideout Mike Hass and cornerback Roy Lewis.
