Richmond, MI (AHN) - After being denied a ride to his car from people at a hospital, a man took off in an ambulance.

Sgt. Craig Nyeholt, of the Michigan State Police, told the Port Huron Times Herald that Marcus Belgrave Jr., 31, stole an ambulance left idling outside the emergency room entrance of the St. John River District Hospital.

When he didn't get a ride to St. Clair, where his car was located, Belgrave made off with the Lenox EMS ambulance.

Police stopped him shortly after he left the hospital, and he was arrested without incident.

Nyeholt told the Times Herald he didn't know why Belgrave had been at the hospital.

Belgrave faces one charge of unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle. No word on whether or not he's made it to his car yet.
