Kansas City, MO (AHN) - Larry Johnson was deemed ineligible to return to the Kansas City Chiefs before Monday, though the organization has returned fire in its own way.

For much of the past week, a message was put up in a corridor frequently used by reporters, players and team personnel that reads: "Losers assemble in small groups and complain about the coaches and other players. Winners assemble as a team and find ways to win."

Johnson will be sitting for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and will not be paid for his time on suspension.

The running back is on the verge of breaking the all time rushing record for the Chiefs, though over 5,300 fans have submitted their signatures to a petition that aims to stop the Chiefs from using him.

Johnson called out head coach Todd Haley last week on a Twitter post, used two gay slurs in his commentary, and then repeated his insults to a group of reporters the next day.
