New York, NY (AHN) - Head coach Tom Coughlin had one message for his New York Giants squad Wednesday: it's now a one-game season.

In the midst of a three-game losing streak, the once dominant Giants have faded following a recent bout with mediocre, and even poor, play.

"We need to get a win going into the bye week and get back to playing our style of football," quarterback Eli Manning told the New York Daily News.

Coughlin challenged the team leaders to take up a rallying call, and both Manning and Antonio Pierce, the Giants' defensive captain, have answered the challenge with verve in the locker room.

"The guys that are solid and contribute, they need to contribute a little more. Everybody needs to do a little bit more now. Obviously what we're doing is not working," Pierce told the paper.

The Giants, a former top team in the AHN NFL rankings, face the San Diego Chargers Sunday.

While many of the players won't quite call the game 'do or die', the Giants have to reverse their fortunes quickly or a once-promising season will continue to sink into the abyss.
