Oxford, MS (CNS) - Morgan Freeman has settled the negligence lawsuit filed against him by his passenger during the rollover crash in Mississippi last year.

The 72-year-old Academy Award winner was sued by Demaris Meyer in February, claiming he drank alcohol before getting behind the wheel, which led to their crash in the Mississippi Delta in August 2008.

Meyer sued for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability and property damage.

Freeman, who offered to drive her home following a party that time, denied the allegations, saying she was "comparatively negligent." A court date was set for August 2010.

However, Mississippi's Clarion Ledger reports that the two parties have settled the lawsuit. Terms of the agreement, including how much was involved, were not disclosed.
