U.S. Stocks End Week With Little Movement

New York, NY (AHN) - U.S. stocks edged up slightly on Friday after the monthly jobless figures recorded the highest rate in 26 years.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 17.5 points, or 0.17 percent, to 10,023.42, continuing for the third day its climb back past the psychologically important 10,000 level. The gauge was up 3.2 percent on the week.

The Nasdaq edged up 0.34 percent on the day, finishing the week with a 3.3 percent gain.

The Standard and Poor's 500 Index nudged up 0.25 percent.
