Topics: NHLNewark, NJ (AHN) - Yann Danis turned away 23 shots as the New Jersey Devils defeated the New York Islanders 2-1 Friday.

Frans Nielsen put the Isles on the board with a backhanded goal 6:23 into the first period.
The Devils, who picked up their fourth-straight win, capped the following period with two goals.
Cory Murphy defeated Martin Biron with a slap shot at 2:38 into the second period to knot the game 1-1.
Isles' Andy Sutton helped New Jersey (10-4-0) get the edge after a hooking penalty.
Brian Rolston's power-play blast assisted by Andy Greene and David Clarkson notched the game winner at 13:40.
Rolston scored his 100th goal in a New Jersey uniform and his fourth tally of the season.
It might have been a different game if Danis had not halted Isles' Mark Streit and John Tavares attempts in the third with just over six minutes left, turning them away at the crease.
Biron had 29 saves for the Isles.
New York (5-6-5) dropped it's second consecutive game.
