United Airways (BD) Inaugural Flight From Dhaka To London On November 21

Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - United Airways (BD) Ltd, a private sector airliner, is going to start its Dhaka-London-Dhaka route on Nov. 21, the company said on Saturday.

Flights to London will operate twice a week initially on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and depart from Dhaka at noon, a company announcement said in the capital, Dhaka.

"This operation is undoubtedly an achievement for the Bangladesh Aviation Industry, as United Airways is the first private airline to have planned this prestigious route in Europe" Consultant Sales and Marketing of the United Airways (BD) Farhad Hossain.

The first Dhaka-London flight of the airlines is scheduled to take off from Dhaka with a 155-seat MD-83, a U.S.-built aircraft equipped with the latest aviation technologies and navigation equipment.

The one-way fare for Dhaka-London is $425 while the round trip fare is $810 (exclusive of all taxes), according to the announcement.

Launched on 10 July 2007, the United Airways (BD) Ltd. has some 500 shareholders, 95 percent of which are Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) living in the United Kingdom.

Since its inception, the United Airways is currently operating from Dhaka to Dubai, Kolkata, Chittagong, Jessore, Sylhet, and Cox's Bazar and also from Chittagong to Kolkata.
