Northwestern Knocks Off Unbeaten No. 4 Iowa

Iowa City, Iowa (AHN) - The Northwestern Wildcats knocked off the Iowa Hawkeyes 17-10 Saturday afternoon.

The Hawkeyes had won 13-straight games, including a 9-0 start to this season, prior to Saturday's loss.

Dan Persa completed 5-of-9 passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. Drake Dunsmore caught the 4-yard touchdown pass.

Northwestern's Marshall Thomas recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown.

The Wildcats scored twice off turnovers.

Iowa starting quarterback Ricky Stanzi left the game with an ankle injury in the first half.

He was 10-of-18 before exiting with an interception and costly fumble.

Freshman backup James Vandenberg was 9-of-27 for 82 yards and an interception in relief.
