Atlanta, GA (AHN) - A three-yard rushing touchdown by quarterback Josh Nesbitt in the last seconds of overtime put Georgia Tech ahead for good, 30-27 in their matchup against Wake Forest Saturday.

Wake knew coming in that they would have to shut down Georgia Tech's two-dimensional but devastatingly effective offense, but the Deacscame up short in the end.

Leading the effort was junior running back Jonathan Dwyer, who rushed 23 times for 189 yards, including one touchdown.

Nesbitt ran 21 time for 54 yards racking up two touchdown rushes. In the air, he lacked much to be desired, going 4-for-14 for 51 yards and an interception.

Wake Forest quarterback Riley Skinner passed for 263 yards, including two touchdown passes. His primary target was junior wideout Marshall Williams, who added 111 yards on eight receptions.

Despite an explosive second quarter by Wake Forest, where they were able to put 17 points on the board, the Deacs could not pull out the win.

Their rushing attack stalled with Brandon Pendergrass, who went for 11 attempts but only made 30 yards.

Georgia Tech (9-1) is on the road next week, facing Duke in Durham.
