Wizards' Woes: Suns Defeat Wizards In First Afternoon Tilt

Topics: Sports, NBAWashingon, DC (AHN) - An afternoon game did not make the Washington Wizards woes any better. The Wizards entertained Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns only to lose 102-90 Sunday.

It was their fourth consecutive loss.
Jason Richardson led Phoenix with 22 points, Channing Frye grabbed 10 rebounds, Amare Stoudemire had 17 points and Nash finished with 17 assists.
But the Suns (6-1) struggled in the first half by committing 16 turnovers. They rebounded back by giving up five turnovers in the second half. Washington (2-5) committed 17 turnovers in the contest.
Channing Frye, who had 18 points and 10 rebounds, had a three-point play to give the Suns a 89-75 lead earlier in the fourth quarter.
Washington chopped at the 14-point lead with an 8-0 run in the fourth.
The Wizards needed six points to knot the game up, but Brendan Haywood missed two free throws that kept Washington on its heels.
The Suns added seven more points to seal the win.
Wizards' Andray Blatche came off the bench to score 20 points and Gilbert Arenas also tallied 20 points.
