Dynamite: Dynamo Defeat Sounders, Advance To Conference Finals

Houston, TX (AHN) - Brian Ching's goal in extra time gave the Houston Dynamo a 1-0 victory in Game 2 of the conference semis Sunday. knocking the Seattle Sounders out of the MLS playoffs.

Ching blasted a shot into the upper left corner in the 96th minute to defeat goalie Kasey Keller, who finished with four saves. It was Ching's first goal since Sept. 19.

In the 43rd minute, Seattle had a chance to take control of the game.

Freddie Ljungberg's direct kick from Nate Jaqua, hit the crossbar for no tally. Fredy Montero took the ball on a rebound, but Houston keeper, Pat Onstad, swatted it away for the save.

Onstad had three saves in the contest.

Ching could played the hero earlier in the 70th minute on a one-timer sent to the left side of the box, but Keller was planted right where the ball was directed.

Houston could not defeat Seattle (0-2-2) during its four encounters in the regular season.

The Dynamo will face the Los Angeles Galaxy or Chivas USA for next weekend's conference final.
