Faltering Phillies: Trio Need Surgery

Philadelphia, PA (AHN) - Three Philadelphia Phillies players namely, outfielder Raul Ibanez, closer Brad Lidge and reliever Scott Eyre are scheduled to undergo different surgeries this upcoming week, the club announced Saturday.

Ibanez, 37, who hit .272 with a career-high 34 homers and 93 RBIs this season, is due to have surgery Monday to repair a sports hernia.
Lidge is set to undergo operation to remove a loose body from his right elbow.
During the regular season, the 32-year-old right hander posted a 31-11 saves record. In the playoffs, Lidge did not allow a run in five of the six contests he appeared in.
Eyre, who made 42 appearances this season, will undergo surgery Monday on his left elbow. He posted a 1.50 ERA in 30 innings.
